Altered Tea Box Vintage Simple

Hi Everyone,

So my mother in law asked me if I could alter her tea box for her. Her instructions were "something for and older woman" (broad.. I know)

Anyway, so this is my take of "an older womans altered tea box"..lol...

I kept it simple. I used craftsmart vanilla paint then recollections script cream paper for the top and Ancestry paper for the edges and inside. I then distressed the entire box and edges of paper with Tim Holtz Tea Dye ink. added a white vintage cotton lace with a distressed doillie and christmas white/gold picture frame that I also distressed a bit (just to remove so much bright white) I then added the recollection flowers, WOC roses and Want 2 scrap pearl bling.

The inside was left alone I just added the left over paper of ancestry, a bit of lace with an organic flower embellishment from Mrs Grossmans Natural Art. Thanks for reading

Cowgirl HAPPY BIRTHDAY Party Banner

Hi Everyone,

So my daughters birthday is coming up in March..lol.. yeah I know March but when you create for a party you need time. =)

Here I have done the Happy Birthday Banner using various pink and brown prints from an american crafts collection (sorry don't remember the name)

I used my Cameo to cut out the banner, inner bracket, offset of bracket and letters for this banner. (tip.. while the file is still joined enlarge the image to desired cut before separating each layer.)

I used Kraft paper for the background, print paper, an offset bracket in white, bracket in kraft and the letters in pink cardstock.

Graphic 45 A ladies Diary mini dresser w/ WOC Roses

Hi Everyone,

After various shopping trips to Michaels this week, thanks to my christmas gift cards, I finally sat down and created something. =)  (see video of Michaels haul: Michaels haul video

I had stopped by a thrift store and found this mini dresser (dude charged me $4!!! didn't realize it because I purchased cigar boxes and thought I was getting a deal! ha!)

I decided to use up all my little pieces of the A ladies diary paper collection from Graphic 45 so this came in perfect for all those odd shapes and sizes. I didn't have enough for the drawers to go all the way so I figured i'd leave some edge on each side so I could use up all my scraps.

I added a small crochet lace to the top and side panels as well as WOC roses (thanks to my bff's gift My Christmas gift from my Bff) to the top and bottom drawer. On the top it has a piece of a pearl chain, that I cut and use here and there and a locket from Articake charms. Inside the locket is more paper pieces from A ladies diary collection. Let me know what you guys think.. Thanks for reading! =)

Altered Straco Clock using WOC roses

Hi Everyone,

I went to the antique mall here in my area and was inspired to do some thrift store shopping (since the antique mall is so expensive!). anyway, we saw this store.. called second chance filled with a mix of antiques, and modern stuff. I found this Straco Clock for $4! no key but no big deal. I knew what i wanted to do with it as soon as I saw it...

I tried cleaning it first since it did have some nice hand painted designs.. but no luck.. still iky looking. So I sanded and spray painted. Once that was done and dry I shabby chic'd it up. =) Thanks for reading.check out the close up video

Altered lace cupcake tin

Hi Everyone,

I've been checking out the new trend in altering cupcake tins.. it looked pretty cool so decided to give it a try. (its always easier viewing than doing..lol)

Anyway, I went to the dollar tree and purchased 3 tins (cause you never know how many it will take til you get it right) the first two I painted with gesso then white paint (DIFFICULT) (does not leave a smooth finish.. constantly going over to get it covered)the third one i went straight for spray paint. worked like a charm. two layers and done. at least it felt like two layers.. anyway on this tin (the spray painted one) I added several layers of vintage lace. I added venice lace to the edge then some bling trim to give it more pizzaz.. I found some cabinets thrown away and checked out their hardware.. only 2 were matching so I grabbed those handles and spray painted them with metallic paint. the center is covered with a rosette trim from bead landing and the cups are lined with lace and doilies. All in all, it was not a bad project to do however like everything in altering.crafting it sure looked easier when I saw someone else making it. =)
(ps the other two tins were not successful. one i decoupaged..with cardstock (first time) so i had a rough time getting it to stick.. by then i was just not happy with the project.. and the third well the third is a dollar lost.) oh well you loose some you win some. Thanks for reading!
