Simple Wedding Card

Hi Everyone,

My mother in law asked me to make her a wedding card and frankly.. it was difficult. For some odd reason I can't get my creative self to work on cards.. Altering I can do.. give me a canvas and I'll alter that too but give me blank card and I draw a blank.. probably because I feel limited?? I don't know.. but I tried and this is what I came up with.

Damask paper is from Recollections paperpack, Damask embossing is from a 5x7 Darice Folder, Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. Stickers are from Cloud 9 Speciality. Thanks for reading

Altered box for TTCRD "Anything goes Challenge"

Hi everyone,

I am entering this altered box from Michaels to TTCRD challenge. (http://ttcrd.blogspot.com/) The challenge is anything goes.

I painted the outside of the box with folkart vintage white. the inside is painted with pink and white craftsmart acrylic paint. I added vintage ruffled lace  (light pink/peach and cream) to the top edge of the lid and to the bottom of the box. I also placed a stretchy white lace on top of the bottom ruffled lace to give it a contrast. The flowers used are Wild Orchid Crafts Gardenias, Roses, buds and some home made roses. Bling is from recollections and it was cut at each swirl to make it into three instead of one long one. The letter C is a wooden letter from michaels that I also painted and attached to box. Butterflies used are from Michaels brand (floral section not recollections)  Acrylic stem is from Michaels ashland christmas pick.

I enjoyed making this box as I did it for my daughter. Hope she likes it.. when she's older.. lol.. she's only 2 now.

Oh yeah the big pearl bling in the front is a brooch that I bought in a lot of 6 for $8 from ebay. =)

Sorry lighting is not the best today.  Craft light went out last night..lol..burning the midnight oil..or in this case lightbulb..
thanks for reading!

Altered Soup Can Shabby Chic

Hi Everyone,

I was watching some videos on youtube on shabby chic ornaments and altered ornaments and came upon some that altered soup cans. I don't remember the specific site but I decided to give it a try. I painted the soup can with Gesso inside and out. (2 coats) then added FolkArt Vintage White paint. Once it was dry I added one coat of Lumiere Pearlescent White to give it more shine. I used specialty paper from Joann's (the loose sheets) to cover the ridges of the can. I also used it to line the inside. I wrapped vintage lace and made a lace circle in the center. After that I went flower crazy and put lots of flowers with a michaels pendant as my focal point. The bling used was from recollections and the beads are from micheals acrylic christmas stems.. Thanks for reading~
