Family Vintage Lace Wood Plaque with pictures

Hi Everyone,

I was walking Michaels (yeah i know when do I not go to Michaels) anyway, I spotted this wooden sign that said family and had two picture frames hanging from it.

I decided to alter it to fit my style. =)

The wood was all painted with Buttermilk from Americana paints.  I then used paper from DCWV French COuntry. (the letters were not easy.. I took an exacto knife and just cut out the outline from the top of the letter.. it came out ok.. not perfect, but then that's a creation. =)

I added Wild Orchid Craft Roses and a whole bunch of vintage lace scraps. I also painted a doily in buttermilk and painted a fabric doily as well. as a finishing touch I added recollections pearl adhesives on each frame
Hope you like. Thanks for reading

Altered Soup Can Shabby Chic

Hi Everyone,

I was watching some videos on youtube on shabby chic ornaments and altered ornaments and came upon some that altered soup cans. I don't remember the specific site but I decided to give it a try. I painted the soup can with Gesso inside and out. (2 coats) then added FolkArt Vintage White paint. Once it was dry I added one coat of Lumiere Pearlescent White to give it more shine. I used specialty paper from Joann's (the loose sheets) to cover the ridges of the can. I also used it to line the inside. I wrapped vintage lace and made a lace circle in the center. After that I went flower crazy and put lots of flowers with a michaels pendant as my focal point. The bling used was from recollections and the beads are from micheals acrylic christmas stems.. Shabby Chic Ornaments.. finally on display in my room

Hi everyone,

So I finally bought a small tree from target. I had all my ornaments getting stacked up on my desk so I thought.. I should buy a small tree and display them.. so i did.. Here are the pictures. These are all wine corks that I altered with lace, pearls and luxury paper pack. as well as WOC flowers and some homemade flowers.  The large ornament is from walmart that I altered using layered lace, woc flowers and more lace at the bottom and top. Tilda I colored with copic markers and placed her on a snow flake with pink lace, pearl strings and woc flowers. So there's my little tree. Needs more color i think..lol.. it's a slow process.. I will probably start making match box ornaments and see how that looks.. ill keep you guys posted. thanks for reading

Vintage Lavender Canvas WOC (Wild Orchid Crafts)

Hi Everyone,

I really love Wild Orchid Crafts and as I was on their site.. building up my shopping cart I noticed something I had not before... They have challenges! This Challenge is to create a project in Lavender.. so, I decided to try.

I took a 6x6 canvas and painted it with Tim Holtz Seedless Preserve Distress Paint mixed with Shaded Lilac Distress paint. I then added a crochet white doily lace approx 4in.in the center. I took a #8 Tag and Marbled it with Distress Paint Seedless Preserve, Weathered Wood, and Shaded Lilac. I added WOC white lace, Tim Holtz white elastic ruffled lace and WOC flowers in one corner. I also added a purple crochet flower tucked in one side as well as a WOC White spiral that I spritz with Dylusions Purple and tucked at the top of the arrangement . Tucked next to the spiral is a WOC purple hatpin pearl. I took vintage lace from my stash and vintage pearls to border the canvas.
Let me know what you guys think! This is my first challenge entry.. so I hope I did this right! Thanks for reading

Shabby chic Bird Cage (embellie-Want 2 Scrap)

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to share my shabby chic birdcage with you.

I used Want 2 Scrap embellie birdcage. I added gesso then with a paper towel I removed it to give it a vintage look to it. I added want 2 scrap bling borders (cut in pieces) WOC roses as well as Mon ami Abi roses, pink tulle from micheals and small roses from an ebay auction. The bird is from Micheals wood crafts section.
